In some cases, an iPhone’s logic board is far too damaged to repair. This can happen when the phone has been submerged in saltwater for an extended period or physically broken from severe impact. Even when traditional board repair isn’t possible, our New Jersey iPhone data recovery lab can still recover your data — but only if two key components are intact: the CPU and the NAND flash chip.
On all modern iPhones, the CPU handles encryption and is paired with the NAND, which stores your data. These two chips are uniquely linked, meaning your data cannot be accessed unless both are present and functional. If either one is cracked or damaged beyond use, unfortunately, the data is unrecoverable.
If the CPU and NAND are still in good condition, we can transplant them to a donor logic board right here in our New Jersey facility. This allows us to get the iPhone to power on just long enough to unlock the device and create a full iTunes backup — giving you access to your photos, messages, contacts, and more.
This advanced technique is featured in many of our YouTube videos and is one of the last-resort methods we use when all other recovery attempts have failed.
