How to transfer data from an iTunes Backup to a new iPhone

When an iPhone fails, the only way to recover your data is to get the phone to power on again, enter the passcode, and create a manual backup. The data is encrypted by the original CPU, so it cannot be recovered directly from the storage.

Once we get the phone to power on, we will create an iTunes backup. This backup can be used to restore another iPhone. Please note that restoring the backup will erase everything on the new phone, replacing it with an exact copy of the old phone’s data.

Afterward, we will scan the raw iTunes backup file using specialized software, which will organize the data into easily accessible folders. We will provide you with both the raw iTunes backup and the formatted data in file format.

How to transfer data from a Smart Switch backup to a new phone

When an Android-based phone released with Android 7.0 or later fails, the only way to recover your data is to get the phone to power on again, enter the passcode, and create a manual backup. The data is encrypted by the original CPU, so it cannot be recovered directly from the storage.

Once the phone powers on, we will create a Smart Switch backup. This backup can be used to transfer the data to a new Android-based device. During the transfer, the old data will merge with the existing data on the new phone; nothing on the new phone will be deleted.

“Pictures and videos will be located in the “DCIM” folder within the Smart Switch backup. If you only want the pictures and videos, please let us know.”

How You Will Receive Your Recovered Data

Once your data recovery is complete, your recovered files will be returned on a new external hard drive or flash drive, depending on the amount of data recovered.

File Organization

Whenever possible, recovered files are returned in their original folder structure, just as they appeared on your device prior to failure.

The “Problem!” Folder

Along with your recovered data, you may receive a folder labeled “Problem!”. This folder contains files that were affected by damaged or unreadable areas on the original device.

These files may be incomplete or corrupted. Some files may not open due to the original damage. They are included so you can review any data that may still be partially usable.

When Folder Structure Cannot Be Reconstructed

In cases where the file system is too severely damaged to rebuild the original folder structure, recovered data may be delivered in RAW format.

RAW data means files are grouped by file type rather than original folders. Common examples include JPG, PNG, DOC, PDF, and MP4. File names and original directory structure may not be available.

In some situations, we may provide both a reconstructed file system copy and a RAW data copy. This is done when the file system can be partially rebuilt but may be incomplete or unreliable. Providing both formats allows you to access the organized data while also ensuring that all possible recoverable files are included.

Although RAW recovery does not preserve original organization, it allows for the maximum possible amount of data to be recovered from heavily damaged devices.

Our Goal

Our goal is to recover as much data as possible and return it in the most usable format your device allows. If you have questions about your recovered data or need assistance locating files, our team is available to help.
